Professional movers will be available from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
9 a.m.: Pick up boxes, tape, and labels from the Millennium Hall front desk. Moving carts will be available at Myers Tutor lounge
12 p.m.: Students moving to Towers and Calhoun and who wish to have mover-support are to move personal items from bedroom to Millennium lobby by 12 p.m. Moving truck will deliver personal items to lobby of Calhoun Hall by 12:15 p.m. and Towers Hall by 12:30 p.m. Students to move personal items from lobby to new bedroom.
1 p.m.: Students moving to Van Rensselaer, Kelly Hall, Race Street Residences, or Myers Hall who wish to have mover-support are to move personal items from bedroom to Millennium lobby by 1 p.m. Movers will deliver personal items to lobby of Van Rensselaer Hall by 1:15 p.m., Kelly Hall by 1:30 p.m., Myers Hall by 1:45 p.m., Race Street Residences by 2 p.m.
Students are NOT required to have mover help; this is an optional resource available if needed. To request this service, please adhere to the above timeline.
5 p.m.: Carts are due back to the Myers Hall tutor lounge. Deadline to check out of Millennium Hall assignment.
At approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 2, a small lighting fixture fire occurred in one of the bathrooms on the 9th Floor of Millennium Hall. The fire activated the fire system and one sprinkler in the building. There were no injuries and all fire suppression systems operated correctly. However, as a result of the sprinkler activation, residents of floors 7, 8, and 9 will be relocated for the remainder of the academic year. This move is necessary to fully repair the bedroom and common areas on these floors.
Where will I be moving?
On May 1, assignments were provided to each affected student from the 7th, 8th, and 9th floor in another residence hall on campus. This assignment is now considered permanent for the rest of the academic year.
When can I move all of my belongings?
On Saturday, May 5, 2012, University Housing and Residential Living staff will manage a formal move process from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Will there be any moving support?
Yes. Boxes, tape, and labels will be provided on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Moving carts will also be available. Additionally, professional movers will be on-hand to offer support, if requested.
What rate will I pay when moved?
Residents moving to Towers Hall, Calhoun Hall, Myers Hall and Kelly Hall will be prorated from Tuesday, May 1 and charged the rate respective to that building.
Residents moving to Race Street Residences and Van Rensselaer Hall will be charged the Millennium Hall rate. These residents will see change on their E-Bill to the new building rate, but then an adjustment to the Millennium rate.
What should I do with my MicroFridge?
You may move your MicroFridge to your new assignment and University Housing will contact MicroFridge with your updated assignment.
If the MicroFridge is no longer needed, simply leave it in your room and University Housing will coordinate the pick-up.
How do I check out of Millennium Hall?
By Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 5 p.m., you will complete an Express Check-Out Envelope at Millennium Hall and turn in your current room key.
I already have my key to the new assignment. Do I need to do anything else?
Yes. A member of the residence hall staff in your new residence hall will contact you during the week of May 7, 2012 to complete a new Room Condition Report and a new Emergency Contact Card.
How will I obtain my USPS mail?
Any USPS mail and packages delivered to Millennium Hall will still be collected and distributed via Millennium Hall front desk and mailboxes. Any student needing mail or package pick-up is welcome to do so from Millennium.
Will I have to sign into Millennium Hall when visiting?
Your DragonCard will provide access to the front door of Millennium Hall. A separate sign-in book will be available for relocated Millennium residents.
Can I stay connected with my Millennium Hall floor?
Yes. Your RAs will have a new, dedicated list-serv which will enable you to stay connected to your former floor mates.
