Environmental Studies
The B.S. in Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary degree granted by Drexel’s Department of Culture and Commutations. Environmental Studies majors gain valuable exposure to a complex set of issues that will define our society now and in the future. Our students will gain the skills necessary to analyze, understand and solve environmental issues. The core faculty in the Environmental Studies program comes from a diverse set of scholarly and practical backgrounds and these backgrounds will comprise the main themes of the program. The three main conceptual themes of the degree program include: social equity and public health; urban land use, economic development and transportation planning; and public relations and communication. Leveraging its location in an urbanized setting, the strengths of Drexel’s University’s program are its focus on environmental problems facing cities: including urban greening and farming; transportation planning and policy; green building, economic and employment development; environmental justice; planning for healthy environments; and water system planning.
Bachelor of Science: 182.0 credits
