Can I borrow a cap and gown?

All students are required to purchase regalia through the Drexel Bookstore. Rentals are an option for a doctoral students. Your commencement tickets are provided at the time of purchase. Please see the cap and gown webpage for details of the purchase.

I am completing both a BS and MS degree, which cap and gown should I obtain?

Students in the BS/MS programs should obtain the cap and gown for the highest degree they are completing.

I am a BS/MS student, what ceremony do I attend?

BS/MS students will participate in the ceremony for their Bachelor’s degree. While you will only participate in one ceremony, it will be announced that you have completed both a Bachelor and Master’s degree. When you purchase your regalia from the University Bookstore (for the appropriate Master’s degree), you will receive tickets for the appropriate Bachelor’s ceremony.

Do I get special regalia as an Honors College graduate?

The Pennoni Honors College provides graduates with special cords that designate them as graduates from the Honors College.

Do I get special regalia if I am graduating with Latin Honors (summa cum laude, magna cum laude, cum laude)?

There is not special regalia for students graduating with Latin Honors.

Can I get extra tickets?

Drexel University does not guarantee the availability of any extra tickets. Ticket distribution is based on the number of students ordering regalia and the capacity of the ceremony seating. A remote viewing location is available each year for all guests who do not possess a required ticket for admission to the ceremony. In the unlikely event that additional tickets become available for one or more ceremonies, instructions will be provided to graduates via email.

Do I need a ticket for an infant or toddler attending the ceremony?

If the infant or toddler (under 3 years of age) will sit on the lap of a guest with a ticket for the duration of the ceremony, no ticket is required.
