2004 = 19 | 2005 = 18 | 2006 = 5

8. What topic(s) would you like addressed in the next meeting?

- Thin Films, Metallic, Oxide, polymeric, etc.
- I am an extra person for NATO, so I hesitate to speak about contents. Personally, I would like to propose, “Materials and Processings for Sustainable Societies”
- Formation of nanocyrstal powders and monocrystal whiskers of noble metals under thermal destructrion of metal-organic compounds in vacuum
- Biomaterials
- Biomaterials, composite materials, nanocomposites
- Thermal transport in micro and nanocomposite materials
- Nanostructures, nanobiostructures, nanomethods, applications to alternative
energy sources ( fuel & solar cells) 2.Micro & nanofluidics: mimetics from living organism to lab on chip and nanorobotics
3. Nanostructures and nanoinstruments, tools for terrorism detection
- Inorganic nanowires
- Biomedical engineering, biopolymers
- Nanocomposites; biocomposites
- The present NATO meeting had pretty good coverage. Maybe we should get more speakers, instead of having the same speaker speak more than once.
- I know there was an ASI already this past year with biomaterials that I wasn't able to attend - that is my field of research so I guess a biomaterials meeting
would be my first choice. The topics for NATO-ASI in Antalya were very interesting. The sessions were well planned and the conference offered a great
combination of presentations/posters and extra-curricular time to have extended discussions with other researcher
- Manufacturing of Nanocomposites
- Biotechnoology, MEMS, sensors, biomimetic robotics
- The number of talks on electrospinning may be increased
- Size effect in nanomaterials
- Molecular modeling of proteins
- Molecular recognition on nanostructured surfaces
- Bio-applications of plasma in nanotechnology
- Carbon-based materials
- Synthesis and Characterization of Nano-Carbon Materials
- Biomedical applications biocatalysis
- Nanotechnology and new physics
- Functional nanostructured materials
- Biomaterials, nanomaterials
- Polymers, nano fibers
- Applications of carbon for biomedical technologies
- Hydrogen storage on carbon nanotubes, hydrogen storage on metal hydrides
- Nanomaterials and nanotechnology in the broader sense than carbon nanotubes.
We must ensure that other materials receive sufficient attention.
- Drug delivery using nanostructures
- Filamentous Nanostructures from different materials
- In nanotechnology, but the topics should cover more aspect
- Size effect on material properties manufacturing of nano devices
- Synthesizing nano-sized particles and fibers for multifunctional materials

9. What social activities would you like to see available at the next meeting?

 - Any group sports
- What what available was pretty good. More of the same
- More boat tours
- The social activities were O.K.
- I have no idea
- Some more excursions
- Seeing historical places, boat trip
- Afternoon excursion with family members
- City tours and any activities that involve the whole attendees of the conference, such as sports
- The social activities for the NATO-ASI in Antalya were great. Some weren't organized until the day of the trip but that gave the organizers
a way to gauge what the participants would be interested in - what kind of activates they would like to do that day
- Anything historical or water related (scuba, snorkeling, boat tour)
- No propositions
- Anything with Baybars
- More sightseeing
- More group tours and outings
- Similar
- An excursion with all participants
- More cocktails/ more frequent opportunities to get to know each other
- More shopping
- Visiting museums, dancing, excursions
- Gala dinner, party on the beach, something like that--
- 1-2 excursions with all the participants (together)
- I think the social activities should be held in such as way that attendees may interact outside of the ASI venue so that they
may have good memories from the ASI besides the fruitful scientific discussions.

10. What did you most enjoy?

- Everything
- Excursions, visiting historical and cultural places
- High level of conference and excellent organization
- The boat tour, definitely!!!!
- It was very nice that we were attending to the conferences in the morning and at noon, it was swimming time.
Then again conferences.
Such a conference that you both enjoy your vacation and academic knowledge.
- Friendship and social relations among the participants.
- Round table and key lectures
- Friendships, scientific program and dance show
- The weather and seaside and location (lot to see around Antalya) friendly people
- Boat trip!
- Meeting with different researchers from different countries
- First of all the conference and the meeting new people.
- Key note lectures
- Having not traveled to Turkey before the NATO-ASI in Antalya, I think the setting was my
favorite part. Having the conference a resort so close to so much of Turkey's history and
national parks was a good decision.
- Everything!
- The opportunity to interact with scientists in a non-formal setting
- Talks with experts and sea.
- The warm environment where I met many new people and started new research collaborations
- Conference program and discussion
- Traditional Events
- Good scientific presentations and open discussions, the informal and friendly atmosphere, very nice sea location,
interesting excursions
- It was very nice combination of excellent scientific discussions and beautiful beach, historical places, etc.
- Travel excursions
- The discussion hour about the hazards and uses of nanotechnology
- The excellent communication between people and the possibility to establish possible co-operation
- Social activities and poster sessions
- Dinner/cocktails/poster sessions
- The beautiful country
- The boat trip to Keova
- The stimulating spirit and exceptionally friendly atmosphere. Felt like being with good old (and young) friends.
- Establishing new contacts with good scientists and nice people worldwide.
- All the talks, trip to Aspendos
- Quite interesting program and the possibility of close contact between people.
- Meeting with scientists from different countries
- The sea

11. What, if anything, would you change at the next meeting?

- A Free weekend
- Payment for air flight tickets for participants from countries-former soviet union
- The organization of the lectures, I mean, the lectures may be designed from the very basic concepts to the advanced ones, in terms of date
- A larger place for poster presentation and some more time (10 minutes) for poster presentations would be more adequate in my opinion.
- It was O.K maybe some free excursion or at least not so overpriced one (the same trip I did three time cheaper)
- The poster session should be changed. There should be a certain specification of the size of the poster. Many people just
printed one or two slides and presented it, with not much to say. Some were not even available during the poster session for
answering the questions.
- Nothing - I thought the professor / graduate student ratio was good and the discussions were given enough time after
the talks - something that. You don't have at many conferences when the talk is 12 minutes and the discussion is only 2 minutes.
- I think except the hotel, everything in the meeting was near to perfect. For the next meetings only the improvements are needed.
- A bit more time for poster presenters to speak. Better internet connection.
- More time for poster sessions and discussion.
- More time for roundtable discussions
- There should be more discussions than seminars since I believe science progresses
- The individuals selected for lectures must be better selected, In Antalya, a lot of lectures from Ukraine and Russia
did not prepare an adequate presentation (the themes were interesting, but the presentation…???)
- More opportunities such as cocktails and group dinners to get to know the participants
- More local, authentic food
- I’d like more time for the beach and for sightseeing
- Better access to the internet would be helpful
- More “hot” topics should be included in the program
- The hotel

12. Any additional comments?

- I am grateful
- All was ok
- There was some small defects in the organization, such as, before the conference started, it was announced first that we would
make a 'small' presentation before the first poster session. Then the day before the poster session, it was announced by
Mr. Frank Ko that the presentations would be 2-3 minutes. Then I prepared a 3 minutes presentation and on the poster
session day, just before the presentations, Mr. Ko said it would be 2 minutes. Consequently, I could not complete my
presentation in 2 minutes and I could not manage it under the stress of the gong sound. It may seem an unimportant point to
you but be sure that it was extremely significant, and unpleasant situation for me.
- The meeting was excellent scientifically and socially.
- I hope you enjoyed too!
- The conference was well organized. Thank you.
- Excellent job to all the organizers
- How about introducing some awards for the best poster/presentations for students presenting their work.
That would really attract many students to present their work.
- Thanks to the organizers!!!!!
- Guceri organized an excellent meeting!
- The conference was a wonderful experience.
- The organizing staff were very friendly and approachable. I must also thank Star tours for their service.
- Thanks for all your efforts. I wish I can see such kind of scientific experts more in Turkey.
- Great job was done by the whole Drexel team
- In the meeting the emphasis was only to the technological side. The theoretical side should not be forgotten.
And again there must be hours and hours of discussion.
- I liked Turkey, but I would like to have a look at other countries too!
- Enormous thanks to the organizers, both scientific and administrative staff.
- I would like to thank the organizing committee for putting such a wonderful and solid scientific
program and giving us the opportunity to meet new people from other backgrounds.
