The Good Idea Fund, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Africana Studies program present Michelle Alexander on Monday, May 6.
Michelle Alexander is a highly acclaimed civil rights lawyer, advocate, legal scholar, and award-winning author. Her book The New Jim Crow
has received rave reviews and has been featured in national radio and television media outlets, including MSNBC, NPR, Bill Moyers Journal
, Tavis Smiley,
C-SPAN, and Washington Journal
, among others.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Please arrive early to be seated.
The lecture will take place at 6 p.m. with a book signing and reception to follow.
