College of Arts and Sciences to Celebrate Student Achievement on Honors Day 2024

Students receive awards at Honors Day 2023

May 7, 2024

The College of Arts and Sciences will host its 2024 Honors Day on Wednesday, May 22. This annual event gives our faculty, staff and alumni an opportunity to honor our students’ achievements in the classroom, lab and community.

Students in the College of Arts and Sciences successfully combine knowledge and hands-on learning to advance innovative solutions with confidence and determination. They rise to the challenge to go beyond their perspectives, understanding today's problems while pioneering tomorrow's solutions.

Over 100 awards will be distributed at this year’s Honors Day, underscoring the value of the scholarship and research that our students are conducting in the college year after year. All students recognized have maintained impressive records that set them apart from their peers. Honors are awarded on a range of criteria including academic achievement, research, student participation, community engagement, mentorship, essay submission and outstanding personal character.

Honors Day awards are made possible by alumni and friends who inspire, energize and strengthen the legacy and vision of the college. This year, we are proud to announce the addition of three new awards made possible by our gracious donors.

  • The Kanubhai C. Desai and Hasmukh O. Mody Memorial Scholarship recognizes a senior with a minimum GPA of 3.5, who is part of the Pennoni Honors College, is enrolled in either the LeBow College of Business or the College of Arts and Sciences and responds to an essay prompt.
  • The Brennan Lied Memorial Student Engagement Prize recognizes an undergraduate student who is majoring in criminology and justice studies, and who has demonstrated meaningful engagement with communities and community partners to address issues of justice.
  • The Henri C. Levit ’68 Endowed Prize honors an undergraduate student who is minoring in Jewish studies and who has made a positive impact on Jewish Life at Drexel and/or in any community outside of Drexel.
