The 2023 College of Arts and Sciences Commencement Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 15, at 5 p.m. at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts. We proudly welcome keynote speaker and Drexel alum Elizabeth Lombardo, PhD '02.
With over two decades dedicated to assisting high-performing executives, entrepreneurs, athletes and celebrities address stress by accessing reserves of untapped potential, it is no surprise that Elizabeth Lombardo, PhD, is often called “America’s Most Trusted Celebrity Psychologist.” As a sought-after motivational speaker, author and coach, Dr. E—as her clients affectionately call her—is passionate about helping people to transform their personal and professional lives through an accessible and research-supported process designed to optimize their mindset.
Dr. Lombardo is renowned for her work with Fortune 500 companies, including Coca-Cola, Oppenheimer, Westinghouse, Solo Cup, NBC Universal, Deloitte, UBS, Lincoln Financial and others. In addition, she is a highly-regarded media expert with hundreds of TV and radio appearances. Her writing and opinions frequently appear in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, SUCCESS, Fast Company, Huffington Post, Forbes and other top-tier publications.
Lombardo holds a PhD in clinical psychology and a master’s in physical therapy. NBA Hall of Famer and sports analyst Shaquille O’Neal says, “Dr. Lombardo is my Head Coach for Happiness.” Her newest book, “Get Out of the Red Zone: Transform Stress and Optimize True Success,” helps individuals and organizations better cope with stress by implementing a new way of thinking to enhance engagement, productivity and self-worth.
Lombardo is a mother of two teens and has maintained a thriving sports psychology practice for years. More recently, she created EleVive, whose motto is “Elevate your mindset, thrive in life,” to support adolescents and their parents in learning the skills to excel, whatever challenges they may face. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Drexel University in 2002.
Dr. E lives outside Chicago with her family and their dog, Bailey.
