A Note From the Dean on the New Academic Year

September 25, 2019

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

This week not only marks the official start of fall, but also the beginning of a brand-new academic year. I'd like to welcome our new and returning Dragons to campus and wish our students the best of luck as they embark on co-op opportunities and adventures abroad.

In the last few weeks, I have had the chance to meet with our College's dedicated staff, world-class faculty, and inspiring, intellectually curious and diverse students. I am humbled and proud to be a member of such an enthusiastic and ambitious community.

The start of a new year brings opportunities to reflect and reinvigorate. This year will undoubtedly pose challenges for all of us; with those challenges comes the opportunity to push our thinking in new directions, and to work together toward a greater good.

As you jump into the pace of the fall term, remember that we are a community of Dragons here to support one another. Reach out to your colleagues and classmates, take advantage of Drexel’s many resources, and embrace the diversity of thought that we proudly contribute as a college of arts and sciences.

I look forward to learning from you, and alongside you, as we work toward the opportunities that lie ahead for our College.

Best wishes for a productive academic year, full of learning, creativity and discovery.

Go CoAS Dragons!

Sincerely,

Dean Norma Bouchard, PhD
Drexel University College of Arts and Sciences
