Sociology Professor Invited to Serve on Diversity Task Force

Kelly Underman, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, was invited to serve as the Advisory Member of the Diversity Task Force for the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine. The Society represents a global membership of over 9,000 healthcare professionals working in intensive care. The Diversity Task Force was initiated to increase gender, racial and ethnic, and interprofessional diversity in the Society's membership and leadership. Underman attended the Society's 31st Annual Congress in Paris to observe the work of the Task Force and provide recommendations. She also gave a talk about her research on emotional socialization and served as a judge for the Society's NEXT Young Lecturer Award.
