Rubie Ghazal, PhD, Named Director of Drexel’s English Language Center

The College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce that Rehab (Rubie) Ghazal, PhD, has been appointed Director of Drexel’s English Language Center.
Dr. Ghazal’s research and work has promoted cultural understanding in educational settings, and has received funding from CitiGroup International, the American Embassy in Cairo and the Boeing Company, among others.
She received her PhD in educational administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and her MA in teaching English as a second language from the American University in Cairo, Egypt. In her previous position at Moravian College, she established and served as Director of the Global Inclusion Office and taught courses in women and gender studies, Middle Eastern studies, communication and academic skills.
Dr. Ghazal has served as an instructor and advisor at the German University in Cairo, the American University in Cairo, Niagara University and the State University of New York at Buffalo. She previously held administrative positions at the educational nonprofit AMIDEAST in Egypt, where she designed and managed a professional English training program and wrote more than 20 successful scholarship and grant proposals.
With her vast international, teaching and administrative experience, Dr. Ghazal is the ideal individual to lead the English Language Center into their next chapter of success. Please join us in warmly welcoming Dr. Ghazal to Drexel University and to the College.
