Career-defining co-ops, classes, research and clubs — a Dragon never sleeps. You’ve kept step with the quarter system, taken on all-nighters, navigated professional and research settings, made friends and connections who got you through and helped you grow. Your ambition couldn’t wait — but we’re asking you to pause it for one quick second.

Soon, you’ll be off on new adventures, but before you go, take this moment to pause and reflect. Take it in. Appreciate how far you’ve come, how much you’ve learned, the relationships you’ve built along the way.

The #CoASPressPause Instagram Contest invites you, graduating students from all CoAS undergraduate and graduate programs, to share your Drexel “mementos” — the experiences, friends and memories that you’ll take with you through graduation and beyond.

How it Works

1. Follow @drexel_coas on Instagram.
2. Upload a photo on Instagram that depicts the person, place, thing, moment, event, etc., that you will take with you after leaving Drexel.
3. Tag #CoASPressPause and @drexel_coas in your caption and briefly describe why you chose the image.

Note, if your photo stream is private: Once you follow our account, you’ll need to allow us to follow you back so we can see your photo submissions, OR email your photos to coas@drexel.edu, subject line “CoAS Instagram Contest.”

Contest Timeline

You’ll have until Sunday, June 17, 2018 to submit your photos. Once the contest period is over, we’ll post our favorite submissions to the College of Arts and Sciences’ Facebook page for voting.

• Instagram Submission Period: Wednesday, May 2 – Sunday, June 17, 2018
• Facebook Voting Period:  Wednesday, June 20 – Sunday, June 24, 2018
• Winners: Announced the week of June 25, 2018.

The Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to contest participants whose photo receives the most “likes” on Facebook at the end of the voting period.

• First place: $200 Visa gift card
• Second place: $100 Visa gift card
• Third place: $50 Visa gift card

In the event of a tie, the voting deadline for the tied photos only will be extended until midnight on June 25, 2018. If the tie is not broken during the extended contest period, the College will select the three winners from the tied photos.

FAQs

Q: Who can participate in the #CoASPress Pause Instagram Challenge?
A: The challenge is open to graduating students in any undergraduate or graduate program in Drexel University’s College of Arts and Sciences. However, the Facebook voting portion of the contest is open to everyone.

Q: Do I have to be in the photo I submit?
A: No, being in the photo is not required.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of photos I can submit?
A: You can submit as many photos as you’d like until the contest submission period ends!

Q: Can I tag photos I’ve previously Instagrammed and submit them to the contest?
A: Yes, as long as you tag them before June 17.

Q: How will you get my contact information if I’m chosen for the Facebook portion of the contest?
A: We’ll leave a comment on your Instagram photo asking you to email us your contact information. Remember, if your photos are “private” you’ll either need to allow us to follow you back on Instagram, or simply email us your submissions along with your contact details to coas@drexel.edu, subject line “CoAS Instagram Contest.”

NOTE: Inappropriate or offensive photos will be disqualified at the College’s discretion. Unsuitable content includes but is not limited to: the promotion of drugs, alcohol or tobacco products; sexually suggestive or explicit images; copyrighted materials not owned by the Instagram account holder; and/or any photos that are offensive, obscene or derogatory in nature.
