Eva Karasmanis Receives an Award from the National Cancer Institute

Eva Karasmanis, a PhD candidate in the Spiliotis lab, has been awarded the prestigious Ruth L. Kirschstein pre-doctoral fellowship award (F31) funded by the National Cancer Institute, an agency of the National Institutes of Health. The project titled "The role of septins in cytokinetic abscission" aims to investigate how septins, a group of proteins whose expression is misregulated in many cancers, function in the last step of cell division and contribute to the development of cancer.
