English and Philosophy Department Announces the MA in Publishing
June 17, 2015
The English and Philosophy Department is pleased to announce an MA in Publishing, with a newly designed curriculum including exciting courses and a broad range of faculty, all professionals in their field. The new program will also be interdisciplinary, offering courses in Law, Business, and Graphic Design.
Teaching faculty come from all areas of publishing, from newspapers to small presses, online venues to academic presses. Classes often feature guest speakers who are also currently working in the industry, such as small press founders, trade magazine editors and more.
New courses include Small Press Development and The E-book and e-zine, as well as special topics classes in areas such as Literary Agents, and Publishing via Alternative Delivery Methods.
The program serves those who intend to pursue a career in publishing, and also serves the needs of individuals already employed in the publishing field who seek to update and broaden their knowledge and/or aspire to advance in their field.
The Publishing program offers traditional classes, online and synchronized online courses, day and evening hours. Students study all aspects and genres of the publishing industry, while also focusing on their own primary areas of interest.
