July 20, 2015
New this fall – The Philosophy program in the Department of English and Philosophy announces four new concentrations in Philosophy:
- Ethical Theory and Practice – Explore the moral dimensions of experience and action with a focus on the aims and conduct of personal, institutional, social, and international life. An excellent preparation for any career and complement to any major.
- Philosophy and Law – Develop your logic and argumentation skills with a focus on subject areas featuring ethical and legal issues. A great way to prepare for a successful career in areas related to the Law.
- Philosophy, Technology and Science – Discover the complexity of how knowledge is produced and used. A foundation for advanced research and practice in many fields that will broaden and deepen any science or technology-related major.
- Philosophy – Enhance your understanding of the widest range of human experiences, issues, and problems. Philosophical study provides rigorous development of skills like writing, reading, and reasoning while assisting with the challenge of putting one’s life and work in perspective.
We also will offer the five year, three co-op option next year for the first time. If you would like further information or you have any questions about philosophy classes or the program at Drexel, contact Peter Amato, PhD, director of the Drexel Philosophy program.
