Politics Lecture: Nirva LaFortune

Nirva LaFortune is a newly elected Providence City Council Member, representing Ward 3. Councilwoman LaFortune is the Manager and Advisor of Presidential Scholars Program (PSP) and a first-year advisor in the Dean of College (DoC) at Brown University. She oversees and coordinates all administrative, programming and advising elements of the PSP program and is responsible for the coordination and planning of programs in the DoC to support students from historically under-represented groups and students with the greatest financial need.

 

Before returning to Providence from Philadelphia, Nirva served as assistant director of the Centers for Public Policy and Science, Technology, and Society at Drexel University, and as an administrator in the Center for Academic Advising at Temple University's Fox School of Business.
