Good Kings and Bad Kings: Biblical History in the Book of Kings

The Judaic Studies Program and the Department of English and Philosophy of Drexel University present “Good Kings and Bad Kings:  Biblical History in the Book of Kings,” a lecture by Alison Joseph, PhD, Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization. .

Joseph will introduce us to the monarchies of Israel and Judah during the 10th to 6th centuries BCE. She will explore the model of the king and the ways that the biblical historian helps us read and understand this history.

Alison L. Joseph is the author of "Portrait of the Kings: The Davidic Prototype in Deuteronomistic Poetics," Fortress Press, 2015.
