“Magnetic Properties of Supramolecular Assemblies and Coordination Polymers Based on Hydroxamate Metallacrowns”
Metallacrowns are coordination analogues of crown ethers and form a considerable class of polynuclear complexes, which can commonly be obtained from hydroxamates, oximates, pyrazole- or triazole-based ligands. The interest in this class of compounds arises from the fact that metallacrowns have been found to exhibit non-trivial luminescence, magnetic and sorption properties and catalytic activity. This presentation will cover some examples of utilization of hydroxamate metallacrowns as building blocks for the construction of complexes with higher nuclearity or coordination polymers. I’ll be discussing their structural features and magnetic properties, including examples of “single molecule magnets” and magnetic cooling.
