Kristene Unsworth's research interests are in the areas of information policy, ethics, government information and surveillance studies. She has conducted research on the use of social categorization in national security policy in historical, international and contemporary contexts. Her work examines the ethical issues behind social categorization, information use and retrieval in government contexts. Current projects include examining the role of citizen participation in government See something, Say something campaigns and the ethical implications of and such participation. Her teaching interests focus on issues of access to and critique of government information, information policy and ethics.
