Fiction
1st Place - "Candy," Emily Homrok

Nonfiction

Honorable Mention - "How to be Friends After a Break-Up," Michael Long

Congratulations to all. The winners receive a cash prize and will be honored at Maya's next event, a Haiku-Off, which will take place in January.

The literary magazine received a total of 92 submissions in poetry, fiction and nonfiction and was overjoyed at the response from the student body. The picking of the winners was blind, meaning submissions were read without knowing the author as to avoid bias. The contest ran from October until December 1st, 2008.

Maya is still looking for submissions for the Spring 2009 Issue. Email dsomaya@drexel.edu for more information.
