Meet and Greet

This year's 5th College of Arts & Sciences Meet & Greet took place on January 24th in the Paul Peck Center. The purpose of the gathering is for students, faculty and staff to get acquainted in a social setting. The turnout was spectacular – over 200 people attended.

Previous Meet & Greets have been only once or twice a year, but this year, they have been made into a quarterly event, so that students and faculty have a chance not only to meet each other, but to foster strong relationships.

The Meet & Greet featured a raffle with a grand-prize of an iPod Nano. Other prizes included two Drexel t-shirts, one sweatshirt, and four $5 gift cards to Barnes & Noble. For students to obtain raffle tickets, they were required to talk to a faculty member, who would then sign a raffle ticket for the student. This crafty device, no doubt cooked up by Dean Donna Murasko, ensured that students were not simply standing around amongst themselves, and, indeed, the prospect of winning an iPod Nano seemed to spur students to action and create much commotion throughout the entire event.

The Meet & Greet was hopping with excitement until the very end, when the raffle was drawn. And even at 6pm, some students and faculty remained to chat, proving that not all the introductions had been merely for an iPod Nano.
