Psychology Clinical PhD Curriculum

The PhD in Clinical Psychology requires students to participate in a combination of coursework research and clinical practicum. Every effort is made to schedule classes at times that do not conflict with other student responsibilities; typically courses are offered on Tuesday and Wednesday. The curriculum is also designed with consideration for the required clinical practicum experience in the Drexel Psychological Services Center (2nd year) and other external practicum (3rd and 4th year).

The overall structure of the curriculum encourages completion of the majority of the required coursework within the first two years, with more flexibility for other research and clinical responsibilities in the second two years. In addition, several course sequences are embedded into the curriculum to support training in relevant areas. Specifically, there is a course sequence for clinical intervention preparation, the clinical neuropsychology concentration, data analysis and research methods and courses on practicum readiness/professional issues and supervision in psychology.

The course sequence presented below provides an overall perspective on the curriculum for each of the four years. Please remember that Drexel University is on the quarter system.
