A New and Improved Model of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory Designed and Built by High School Students

 

Presented by high school students of the IceCube Immersive Summer Program:

Seven high school students will present their summer work and experiences in the Department of Physics at Drexel University. Under the supervision of Brean Prefontaine, physics '17, and Virginia Price, physics doctoral candidate, the high school students designed, coded, and built a new and improved model of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory using programmable LEDs and a microprocessor. They then took their model to the Franklin Institute and taught the general public about IceCube using their model.
