“CAS & SciFinder Update”

SciFinder is web based search tool produced by Chemical Abstracts Service(CAS) and used by all types of scientists to access the world’s largest databases of chemistry and related sciences. SciFinder is used to acquire information regarding scientific articles, conference proceedings, patents, dissertations, etc., as well as information on all CAS Registry Substances. Also, SciFinder has the largest collection of searchable chemical reactions. Please see www.cas.org for additional descriptions. This update is for all levels of users and interested scientists. Included will be a “live / on-line” session using SciFinder. Topics expected to be covered are:

  • What’s happening at CAS • What are PatentPak, MethodsNow and ChemZent?
  • Helpful capabilities in SciFinder users may not be aware of
  • Techniques regarding the efficient use of SciFinder
