Dr. Stephen Gambescia Presents at International Conference
October 24, 2013 — Dr. Stephen Gambescia, a clinical professor in the Department of Health Services Administration, presented at an international conference in New York in mid-August around the theme, Poeticizing the Urban Apparatus: Scenes of Innovation. Also presenting was the former Drexel Great Works Symposium fellow Dr. Saeed Hydaralli, from York University in Toronto. Dr. Gambescia’s presentation was titled, “Running the Urban Landscape: Reconstructing Risks.” It showed the dialectic between one of the most natural activities (running) in one of the most contrived environments (the city). Dr. Hydaralli presented on “Innovation and Urban Mobility.” A strong international spirit and interest in urban innovation was shown by presenters from Canada, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, England, Germany, Ecuador, Australia, the Netherlands, and many U.S. cities.
