Radiologic Technology Students Lend a Helping Hand at Our Brother’s Place
September 30, 2012 — This summer, Radiologic Technology students and staff participated in two days of community service at Our Brother’s Place, a Philadelphia shelter program operated by the Bethesda Project. Students helped shelter members with facility improvements including cleaning and laundry distribution. The students also had conversations with residents, played games, and traded stories.
In keeping with Drexel’s Civic Engagement initiative, second year Radiologic Technology students are encouraged to contribute to their community by collaborating with local residents and organizations. “Organizations like Our Brother’s Place need willing volunteers to work with the less fortunate in order to continue helping others. I’m glad I was able to spend my time and abilities helping this cause,” said Radiologic Technology student Jaclyn Orndorf.
