Dr. H. Michael Dreher Inducted as Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing

October 1, 2012 — Michael DreherDr. H. Michael Dreher, an associate professor in the Graduate Nursing Division, was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing on October 13 during the Academy’s 39th Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. The Academy of Nursing is comprised of more than 1,800 nurse researchers, educators, practitioners, policy makers, and scholars.

Academy of Nursing President Dr. Joanne Disch said, “Selection for membership in the Academy is one of the most prestigious honors in the field of nursing. I congratulate all of the new Fellows.” Candidates are reviewed by a panel of Fellows and selection is based on criteria including the applicant’s contributions to nursing and health care, their two current Fellow sponsorships, and the extent to which the candidate’s nursing career has influenced health policy. Dr. Dreher’s induction into the Academy demonstrates his significant impact and contributions to the field.
