The Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) announced Alecia Schneider Fox, M.S.N., FNP-BC as the 2010 Advisor of the Year.
Philadelphia, PA, February 4, 2011 — The Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP) announced Drexel University School of Nursing and Health Professions Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Faculty Affairs, Alecia Schneider Fox, M.S.N., FNP-BC as the 2010 Advisor of the Year. All SNAP members and chapters receiving special recognition were honored at a ceremony during the November 2010 Convention in Lancaster, Pa.
SNAP is a student run organization that represents over 5,000 students from nursing schools throughout Pennsylvania and is part of the National Student Nurses’ Association.
For Fox, this award represents a culmination of lifetime achievement for giving back to the profession. She served as the organization’s charter student president.
“Alecia established continuity on the SNAP board, which had not been realized prior to her election. She provided strong leadership and support for her board and she successfully encouraged those who were undergraduates to run for additional terms on the board” Said Cindy Shingler, Executive Director of SNAP. “Since her term, SNAP has enjoyed having boards consisting of at least one, and usually more, persons who had served the previous year. That has been vital to SNAP’s growth and effectiveness.”
