Regina L. Wright is a graduate of Widener University and has a master's degree in Adult Health and Illness (Advanced Practice Specialist track) with a concentration in general and trauma surgical patients.She has a post-master's certificate in Teaching from the Teacher Education Program for the Expert Nurse Clinician at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Wright has been a clinical instructor in Care of the Adult Patient at the undergraduate level since 1996. She has also taught in staff development programs to new graduates in general acute care areas and the emergency department. She has a broad range of clinical experience in medical surgical and emergency nursing.
Ms. Wright began teaching at the College of Nursing and Health Professions in 2002. Her teaching focus is to maximize student clinical learning in a supportive yet challenging environment. Areas of interest include: disorders of the gastrointestinal system, toxicology, pain management, and legal issues in nursing. Ms. Wright continues her clinical practice at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (a Level 1 trauma center) as a primary nurse in the Emergency Department. She has practiced at HUP since 1989.
