Dr. Uribe has worked as a nurse in several of the neighborhoods of Philadelphia for the past 20 years and is interested in urban public health issues and caring for immigrant populations.
She researched the history of Chilean nursing and the triangular interactions between nurses, governments and philanthropies in Chile up to the 1950s for her doctoral dissertation.
She specializes in Public Health Nursing and Nursing Research.
Dr. Uribe area of research specializes in nursing history with a focus on international, professional collaboration, philanthropic health care projects, and Latin American healthcare.
Dr. Uribe is a member of the American Association of the History of Nursing, the American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau.
