Dr. Palisano is a Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences and a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association. He is an Investigator, CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research, McMaster University. His research involves determinants of activity and participation of children and youth with cerebral palsy, methods of service delivery and interventions to optimize activity and participation in children with physical disabilities, and transition to adulthood for youth with special health care needs. He has served as an investigator on grants from the National Institutes of Health, National Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Shriners Hospitals for Children. Dr. Palisano has served as an advisor or committee member of thesis and dissertation research for over 50 students. He is Co-Editor of the Journal Physical & Occupational Therapy in Pediatrics and Associate Editor of the textbook Physical Therapy for Children.
