Dawn Morningstar received her BFA in dance from Temple University, an MA in dance/movement therapy from Drexel University, is a licensed professional counselor and a board certified dance/movement therapist. She was instrumental in the creation of the Creative Arts Therapy Program at Philadelphia Family Court and has run groups in various residential treatment and hospital programs in the Philadelphia area. Dawn’s specialty is working with children and adolescents. She is a dance/movement therapy clinician at Drexel’s faculty practice, Parkway Health and Wellness. Professor Morningstar infuses movement into all of her teaching to aid students in the integration of theoretical material and clinical application. In addition, she is on the Board of Directors of the American Dance Therapy Association. While on a cultural exchange in England, she taught an anti-bullying program using dance/movement therapy in a local primary school. Outside of Drexel, Dawn is active as a choreographer for both professional and school organizations in the Philadelphia area.
