Lew Bennett CRNA, MS, MSN has been the Chair of the Nurse Anesthesia Department at Drexel University since 2006. He obtained his Associate Degree in Nursing from Hahnemann University in 1984, and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1990. He became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 1992, graduating from Montgomery Hospital School of Anesthesia. In 1995 he obtained his M.S. from St. Joseph’s University and in 1998 received his MSN from Temple University.
Mr. Bennett has 21 years of experience as a CRNA, as both an educator and clinician. He is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) as well as the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists (PANA). Currently, Mr. Bennett is pursuing a doctorate degree, with a focus on the use of simulation to improve second year nurse anesthesia student’s clinical judgment.
