Moulage in SimulationPROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The concept of using simulated injuries and illnesses or moulage to educate healthcare practitioners is not new but its use is expanding. The Program begins with a background of moulage, casualty simulation and makeup. A discussion of the history of moulage will show the evolution of the method. The use of moulage in a simulation scenario is limited only by the scenario developer’s imagination. Care must be taken however to keep this imagination from running wild.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, Academic Nursing Faculty, Simulation Lab Coordinators, and Healthcare Professionals interested in moulage for simulation.

    Accreditation

    Purpose:
    To enable the nurse and other simulation specialists to demonstrate effective moulage techniques in order to enhance educational simulation activities.

    Overall program objectives:
    1. Discuss common moulage techniques for use with standardized patients and human patient simulators
    2. Discuss the creation process for simulated wound appliances

    Contact hours:
    6.0 Continuing Nursing Education contact hours will be provided.
    You must attend the entire program to receive credit.

    Drexel University (DREXEL) College of Nursing and Health Professions, Division of Continuing Nursing Education is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
