Purpose/Goal - Comprehensive Colposcopy for the Women's Health Practitioners
To enable the nurse and other healthcare professionals to demonstrate competence in cervical and lower genital tract pathology.
Target Audience - Comprehensive Colposcopy for the Women's Health Practitioners
Registered Nurses, Advanced Practice Nurses, Midwives, Physicians, Physician Assistants and any Healthcare Professional with at least one year experience in women’s health care and an interest in learning the most current indications and techniques of colposcopy.
Overall Program Objectives - Comprehensive Colposcopy for the Women's Health Practitioners
- Review the components of a complete gynecologic history and physical examination that is focused on cervical, vaginal, vulvar, and anal anomalies
- Discuss current screening guidelines for cervical and lower gential tract cancer prevention
- Discuss the indications for colposcopic examinations and biopsy
- Identify abnormal cytopathology and histopathology findings and colposcopic patterns
- Discuss the current appropriate management of premalignant and malignant diseases of the cervix and lower genital tract
