Summer Research Opportunities Info Session

Wednesday, December 2, 2015

12:00 PM-1:00 PM

Come learn about funding opportunities to pursue research beyond Drexel this summer. In addition to basic advice for finding and applying for scholarships, we will focus on several programs:

  • The National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (www.nsf.gov/crssprgm/reu/reu_search.jsp) funds student research at sites across the U.S. Each student applies for a specific research project in an area funded by the NSF where he/she works closely with the faculty and other researchers at that site.
  • The Amgen Scholars Program (www.amgenscholars.com/) provides financial support and a hands-on research experience at a participating university for undergraduates in science and biotechnology.
  • The NOAA Hollings Scholarship Program (www.oesd.noaa.gov/scholarships/hollings.html)  provides sophomores with academic assistance (up to $9,500 per year) for 2 years of full-time study, plus a 10-week, full-time internship position ($700/week) during the summer at a NOAA facility.
