All IAS majors and minors must complete some foreign language study. All students pursuing the B.A. degree in International Area Studies are required to take at least 21 credits in an approved IAS language, with at least four courses at the 300 level. IAS minors must complete at least one 201 level course.
Language courses are offered through the Drexel’s Modern Languages program in the Department of Culture and Communication. The languages listed below are approved to fulfill the IAS language requirement. Majors may qualify for the University's advanced-level Certification of Proficiency in their target language or languages.
