Graduation and Commencement Congratulations! You now have senior status and are nearing the completion of your undergraduate degree. While seemingly overwhelming, this can be a great year--as long as you plan ahead. Below is a checklist to help you stay organized: Contact your advisor to make sure you are on schedule for graduation. Remember, just because you have completed your minimum credit requirements for graduation does not necessarily mean you have completed your course requirements, and vice versa. If meeting with your advisor, please come prepared and bring an updated checklist to your appointment. Apply to graduate for the appropriate term on the Drexel Central website. Visit the Drexel Central website to apply for graduation at:http://www.drexel.edu/drexelcentral. You will not be recognized as a "graduating senior" until you complete this important step. The deadline to apply for each term appears on the Drexel Central website. Have you checked to make sure that all of your transfer credits from other institutions have been posted to Drexel One? Drexel University's graduation requirements include a policy that states: Students with senior standing must take their remaining courses at Drexel University (http://www.drexel.edu/drexelcentral/graduation/information/). If courses were taken prior to senior year at an outside institution and the credits have not been posted to your academic record, please consult with your academic advisor to find out the reason. If you will not be completing your degree requirements by the Spring term, you can still walk in the graduation ceremony if you are within 20 credits of graduating at the end of Spring Term. To "walk" in the graduation ceremony, please complete an Application to Participate in Commencement Activities. Undergraduate students should contact their academic advisor to complete the form. Resolve any "INC" (Incomplete), "INP" (In Progress) OR "NGR" (No Grade) grades on your academic record. You cannot be cleared to graduate with these pending grades on your record. You must obtain at least a 2.0 Cumulative Grade Point average (GPA) in order to be approved to graduate. Have you checked Drexel One to make sure your mailing address is accurate? You will not receive important information about graduation if this is not correct. Spring Commencement information is usually mailed in late December. Have you resolved and hold's which currently appear on your academic record? A student who has been issued a HOLD cannot graduate until the HOLD has been removed. A diploma can not be issued with a HOLD on a student account. Have you visited the Steinbright Career Development Center (SCDC) at 3201 Arch Street to inquire about their services The Career Development Center offers programs and resources for students doing a full-time job search, and offers an on-campus interview program. Is your student financial account in good standing? The Drexel Central office is located on the first floor of the Main Building on Chestnut Street Have you picked up your graduation cap and gown at the Drexel Bookstore? For details, call the Bookstore at 215.895.2861 or visit the Bookstore's website. You will be issued tickets for the ceremony upon picking up your cap and gown.
