Drexel Faculty Make Strong Showing at American Medical Informatics Association Symposium

Several members of the Drexel University College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) and the College of Medicine (DUCOM) community presented at theAMIA 2016 Annual Symposium, Nov. 12-16, 2016 in Chicago. Gabriela Marcu, PhD, assistant professor of information science at CCI; Leah Kulp, PhD in information studies student; Katherine McCain, PhD professor emeritus at CCI; Paulina Sockolow, DrPH, MS, MBA, associate professor, Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions; Edgar Chou, MD, MS, chief value officer, Drexel College of Medicine; and Prudence Dalrymple, PhD, research and teaching professor at CCI and director of the Institute for Health Informatics, presented at the AMIA 2016 Annual Symposium alongside faculty from universities such as Columbia University, New York University and Temple University, among others.

The American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) is an organization that aims to transform healthcare through science, education, and the practice of informatics. The AMIA 2016 Symposium, which marked the 40^th anniversary of the Symposium, attracted informatics researchers, professionals, students and trainees, among others, to form a community that connects professionals and students interested in healthcare informatics.
