SAVE THE DATE! Join us for the 2016 iConference,“Partnership with Society,” in historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

The 2016 iConference will take place Sunday, March 20 through Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Hosted by the Drexel University College of Computing & Informatics, this will be the 11th event in the iConference series. Our theme of “Partnership in Society” examines the integral roles that information science and the contemporary iSchool movement play in addressing information challenges that permeate the fabric of society.

Our conference venue, Loews Philadelphia Hotel, is located in bustling Center City. The historic 33-story building is hailed as America’s first skyscraper, and is in easy walking distance to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, the birthplace of the United States Constitution. Other nearby attractions include the Rodin Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Fairmount Park—one of the world’s largest municipal parks.

From a culinary standpoint, there is something for everyone in Philadelphia. Dining options abound, from the world-class restaurants of Center City, to the enclosed public eatery at Reading Terminal Market, to the cheesesteak sandwiches and iconic Italian Market of South Philly.

The 2016 iConference is presented by the iSchools organization and hosted by the Drexel University College of Computing & Informatics, iConference 2016 is chaired by Dean David Fenske with co-chair Jane Greenberg. Stay tuned to the iSchools' iConference website for more details on next year's conference.

About the iConference
The iConference is an annual gathering of a broad spectrum of scholars and researchers from around the world who share a common concern about critical information issues in contemporary society. The iConference pushes the boundaries of information studies, explores core concepts and ideas, and creates new technological and conceptual configurations—all situated in interdisciplinary discourses. The iConference series was established in 2005 by the iSchools organization, a growing worldwide association of Information Schools dedicated to advancing the information field, and preparing students to meet the information challenges of the 21st Century. Each annual iConference is hosted by a different iSchools member-institution. For more information or to view to past proceedings, please visit the iSchools' website.
