Introducing our new Program Coordinator for CASTLE
August 1, 2016
Marisa Dietrich joins the CASTLE team as the Program Coordinator, effective August 1, 2016.
Marisa received her BA from Rutgers University where she majored in Political Science. She recently completed her master's requirements in Higher and Postsecondary Education at Teachers College at Columbia University. Her concentration was Academic and Developmental Analysis and her research examined STEM persistence and retention models for African American women as well as the influence of an institution’s campus climate on student retention. During her time at Teachers College, she was a graduate assistant with the City University of New York at John Jay College for Criminal Justice. In this role, she worked extensively with the Office of Student Transition Programs managing orientation and commencement-related events.
She currently serves as a Student Charter Trustee member of the Rutgers University Board of Trustees, and will serve as the incoming chair to the Board of Trustee’s Diversity Committee.
In her new role, Marisa is responsible for organizing and administering critical aspects of CASTLE programs, including helping to develop and coordinate programming to support the professional development of graduate students in STEM education, and programming to support expanded access to research experiences for all STEM students.
Please join us in welcoming Rachael and Marisa to their new positions in the Center for the Advancement of STEM Teaching and Learning Excellence!
