The PROFESS program is a new National Science Foundation (NSF) pilot that encourages future faculty to train in evidence-based teaching and the learning. The PROFESS or Pedagogical Readiness Oversight for Future Educators in STEM Subjects (PROFESS) program is focused on developing and testing a new model of graduate education that enables students to train in educational methods as part of their graduate career towards earning an additional advanced degree in undergraduate STEM education. PROFESS provides a sustainable model including formal mentoring to prepare STEM graduate students as educators who teach using evidence-based pedagogical approaches.
