Ramadan Mubarak! Support for Observing Students

The Drexel Student Center and Drexel Campus Dining teams seek to support all community members observing Ramadan this season. This overview intends to provide information for observing community members regarding Iftar and Suhoor support; however, we provide links to additional resources that observing community members may find helpful.

Ramadan begins on the evening of Sunday, March 10, and will continue through the evening of Tuesday, April 9, 2024. At the end of the month of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr (Festival of Breaking the Fast) will take place on Wednesday, April 10, a day many Muslims celebrate with loved ones.

Suhoor and Iftar Support in Campus Dining Locations

For Iftar, to-go containers will be available in Urban Eatery (34th Street & Lancaster Avenue) for guests who would like to take their meal to-go. Further, U.C. Veg will provide Medjool dates in the evening. Halal offerings are available at various stations. Please ask to speak with a chef regarding available options.

For Suhoor, pre-packaged meals will be available at Urban Eatery for pick-up the prior evening.

For more information or to speak with a Drexel Campus Dining dietician, contact drexelrd@drexel.edu.

Dates and Water for the Fasting

Single-serve Medjool dates and bottled water will be provided at the following Student Center and common areas during observation dates:

  • All residence hall lobbies.
  • Creese Student Center (3210 Chestnut Street) at the first-floor information desk.
  • Library Learning Terrace at Race Street Residences (33rd & Race Streets).

If you have questions about the water/date service, please contact dbs@drexel.edu.
