BEES Graduate Research Seminar: Landscape of Fear and the Ecosystem

The BEES Graduate Research Seminar is a weekly series of scientific presentations by faculty, graduate students and outside speakers. The seminars are opportunities for learning about and discussing ongoing research in the department and current issues in biodiversity, earth and environmental science.
Title: Landscape of Fear and the Ecosystem
Speaker: Dr. Oswald Schmitz, Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies
Description: An integrative story involving scaling from animal behavior and physiology to population and community ecology to ecosystem functioning including productivity and elemental cycling.

About the Seminar: The BEES seminar is a course requirement for Ph.D. graduate students. Students are required to attend and give a presentation on their thesis research. Outside speakers are hosted by a department member and typically visit labs and have discussions with the students.
