Curricula

The B.S. in Applied Engineering Technology consists of 187.5 credits. As a student enrolled in this program, you will be required to take 71.5 credits of general education courses in subject areas including mathematics, the sciences, and liberal arts, in addition to a number of free elective credits.

During your sophomore year, you will choose one of the three available concentrations - electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering technology. These concentrations consist of core fundamental courses, technical electives, free electives, and a three-term senior design project reflecting industrial practices.

Concentration 1: Electrical Engineering Technology

This concentration will prepare you to help design, develop, test, and manufacture electrical and electronic equipment such as communication components, radar, industrial and medical devices, navigational equipment, and computers.

Concentration 2: Mechanical Engineering Technology

This concentration will prepare you to participate in the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of industrial machinery, consumer products, and other equipment. Job responsibilities typically include setting up instrumentation, making sketches, recording data, and estimating labor costs and equipment life.

Concentration 3: Industrial Engineering Technology

This concentration reflects contemporary business and technology practices. As an Industrial Engineering Technology student, you will be provided with the scientific basis for designing, installing, and operating integrated systems of people, materials, quality, information, energy, and equipment.
