Guide to Academic Offices

  • Office of the President

    • Office of the President. The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the University overseeing all operations, from academic affairs to student life, and setting future goals and directions for the University. The President also acts on behalf of the Board of Trustees, which delegates its authority to him.

  • Office of the Provost

    • Office of the Provost. The Provost is the chief academic officer of the University and is responsible for all academic functions. The Office of the Provost oversees all academic programs of study as well as research and the libraries and supports faculty and students through its administrative units.


      • Office of Research. Drexel is dedicated to the premise that technologies and discoveries developed by University faculty must ultimately benefit society. The Office of Research is responsible for the process of working with industry to bring the university's technologies to the commercial market.

      • Steinbright Career Development Center. Each year the Steinbright Career Development Center manages more than 4,000 student placements into co-operative education work experiences, provides personal career counseling to students and works with more than 9,500 Drexel students who are enrolled in co-op programs.       • The Student Resource Center maintains information on academic resources, billing and financial aid.

      • The University Registrar provides ongoing process enhancement while adhering and enforcing Drexel University's academic policies. The Registrar upholds the integrity of the institution by maintaining the accuracy of every student's academic record with the assurance that they receive exemplary customer service, while working within the framework of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.

      • The Graduate Studies Office aims to implement best practices that will enhance and advance graduate education at Drexel. As such it provides academic leadership to the graduate community and furnishes prospective and current graduate students with information on university resources, programs and services.

  • Online Education

    • Drexel Online specializes in innovative, Internet-based distance education programs for working professionals and corporations. Drexel Online was included in U.S.News & World Report's list of "Best Online Graduate Programs" in the fields of business, engineering and library science.

  • Administrative Services

    • The Offices of Equality and Diversity is responsible for ensuring equality of opportunity and compliance with University policies and federal, state and local laws prohibiting discrimination based upon race, color, religion, gender (sex), pregnancy, national origin, age, disability and veteran status.

    • The Office of Disability Services handles all requests from students, employees and guests who have a disability requiring auxiliary aids, accommodations or services to participate in the University's programs. All reasonable requests are addressed in a timely fashion on a case-by-case basis.

  • Libraries

    • Drexel University College of Medicine Archives. The Archives & Special Collections on Women in Medicine & Homeopathy are the repository for the records and heritage of the Drexel University College of Medicine and its distinguished predecessor institutions, which pioneered medical education for women in the United States and the study of homeopathic theories and practices.

    • University Archives. Drexel's Archives collect, preserve and makes available the history of the institution through its print and visual records and through its digital institutional repository. The University Archivist assists students, faculty, alumni and researchers as they explore the history of Drexel University and its predecessor organizations.

  • Office of Information Resources and Technology

    • Office of Information Resources and Technology supports the campus wide technology infrastructure including the wired and wireless networks and enterprise level software applications such as Banner, Hyperion, BbVista and email. Training and support are available to any individual or department on campus requesting and requiring service.

  • Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards

    • The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards facilitates the social, ethical and intellectual development of students by adjudicating violations of the Student Code of Conduct. The office serves the entire community by promoting an environment that supports the overall educational mission of the University.
