Biography
Thomas Pok-Yin Yu received both a B.S. degree in computer science and a M.S. degree in mathematics from Purdue University in 1993. He received his Ph.D. in Scientific Computing and Computational Mathematics from Stanford University in 1997. In 1997-1998, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the department of Statistics of Stanford University. He taught at the department of Mathematical Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1998-2005 before he joined Drexel. Thomas Yu works in the area of multiscale method for geometric modeling and nonlinear signal processing. In 2000, he was granted a NSF CAREER Award for his work in this area.
