Graudate Assistant- Human Resource Development

Description:

The Editor of Human Resource Development Review seeks nominations and applications for a graduate student to serve as a Managing Editor for 20-hours per week. The position will be for the term of July 1, 2013 through July 31, 2014. Salary and benefits are based on School of Education policy for graduate research assistants.


The Managing Editor is responsible for activities to include:

·         Working with the outgoing Managing Editor to learn the publishing system during the month of July 2013.

·         Conducting all daily logistical operations of the journal

·         Identifying potential problem areas with journal operations and notifying the Editor

·         Serving as the  primary contact for the HRDR journal email system

·         Forwarding sensitive emails to the Editor for action

·         Preparing all incoming manuscripts for review in SageTrack

·         Desk-rejecting clearly inappropriate manuscripts (such as empirical studies) and forwarding questionable manuscripts to the Editor for review and disposition decision

·         Identifying potential manuscript reviewers based on keyword and similar content searches in SageTrack

·         Running reports as requested by the Editor

·         Preparing the annual Journal Report and mid-term Journal Report to the Academy of HRD Board

·         Uploading manuscripts into SMART for publishing

·         Coordinating with the Editor as needed for operational issues

·         Taking minutes at Board meetings (which requires funded travel to the Academy of Human Resource Development meetings in Spring 2014)

·         Training his/her replacement Managing Editor during the month of July 2014​

Qualifications: Candidates must have academic expertise in the field of Human Resource Development (HRD). Marketing Assistant

Description:

The Center for Corporate Governance at the LeBow College of Business is at the front line of thought leadership and serves as a cross-disciplinary hub of research throughout the Drexel community.  The Center conducts premier research interacting with faculty and students at Drexel, as well as with leading executives, members of boards of directors and the outside business community through various seminars conferences and classes. We are looking for a part-time marketing assistant to assist in the administration of the Center which consists of: administrative duties,  data base creation and marketing and social media functions.

 

 

Responsibilities
Communications & PR
·         Update and maintain the Centers’ websites and Centers’ presence on internal and external sites, including social media (e.g. Twitter, Facebook and Linked In).
·         Assist with development of fundraising and communications materials.
·         Assist with creation and distribution of newsletters and promotional items.
 
Data Management
·         Help to accurately define and maintain Centers’ database of members and supporters.
·          Track program attendance and manage follow up (thank you, etc.)
 
Events & Research
·         Assist with Centers’ events and marketing e.g. Directors Dialogues, Academic Conference on Corporate Governance, Directors Academy and Evidence & Perspectives programs.
·         To undertake specific research projects occasionally to help better understand the Centers’ audience. e.g. board memberships, company composition and nonprofit financial research.
