Led by students from Drexel's School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems, the weServe initiative consists of three key elements – service, leadership, and a sub-curriculum that expands the students' educational experience. The program enables experiential learning for students through a firsthand understanding of healthcare needs and disparities at a local and global level, and to address such unmet needs by service through innovation.

Through the successful leadership of Drexel students, the program has now established relationships in The Gambia and Mozambique for any Drexel University student who wishes to participate in the global weServe program.
